Built as a recreation area for Center Hill Lake, Edgar Evins State Park offers campers, lodgers and daytime visitors a fully-equipped marina, with boats available for rent, and a lake stocked with many species of fish. During the summer, interactive programs suited for the whole family take place frequently, covering local history, nature and conservation. After a day of hiking in the forested hills or sporting on the water, visitors can stop by the Sweet Water Grill for a hearty meal or cook up dinner on one of the picnic area's grills. The park is spread around the lakefront, 64 miles east of Nashville and 25 miles west from Cookeville.
